Dr Frank McGovern
Chief Climate Scientist, EPA

Dr Frank McGovern is the Chief Climate Scientist with Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency.  He is a vice chair of the Joint Programming Initiative on Climate which acts to align the development of climate change research in the European Research Area.

His PhD is in atmospheric physics. He is a member of a number of European expert bodies and a regular delegate to meetings of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and he leads for Ireland at meetings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
