Prof Georgios Chortareas

Prof Georgios Chortareas is a Professor of Economics at King’s College London and the University of Athens. He studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (BA), the University of Glasgow (MPhil), and the University of Connecticut (Ph.D., 1999). Before joining the University of Athens he worked at the Bank of England (International Economic Analysis Division) as a research economist and at the Essex Business School as a Reader in International Finance. His research interests are in monetary policy and international finance and he has published more than fifty articles in referred journals. He is the chairman of the European Economics and Finance Society (EEFS), a member of the Money Macro Finance (MMF) Research Group Committee (UK), and a member of the Executive Board of the European Public Choice Society (EPCS).
