Elena Bárcena Martín is Associate Professor of Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Malaga, and Treasurer of the Society for Economic Inequality. She received her MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at the London School of Economics and her PhD in Economics from the University of Malaga (Spain). Her research interests cover Economics of Inequality, Deprivation and Poverty, Income Mobility and Poverty Dynamics, Economics of gender and children, Public Policies and Social Welfare, and Applied Microeconometrics. The results obtained have led to numerous publications, including some books and chapters in prestigious publishing houses and a number of articles in refereed journals such as Socio-Economic Review, Economics and Human Biology, Journal of Social Policy, Review of Income and Wealth, Journal of Economic Inequality, Review of Economics of the Household, Social Indicators Research, Social Choice and Welfare, Feminist Economics, Child Indicators Research, etc. She has participated in numerous research projects and contracts.
