Dr Nick Barker

Dr Nick Barker is a Programme Director for Short Courses and Teacher at the School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University. Nick is responsible for a number of executive models on strategic change, risk and leadership. Within the wider School, Nick also delivers postgraduate modules on innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property. At Loughborough University, Nick assists in applying net zero, ESG and other important socioenvironmental concerns into the curriculum.

Having worked for over 25 years in industry, Nick has extensive experience in business development, as well as with mid-management and senior roles within small to medium firms and international corporations. Nick runs a new strategy consulting firm, Barker Consulting Ltd, and is currently authoring a cycling book ‘Chasing the Pros‘.

Nick completed his PhD in Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning at Loughborough University in 2020 and received his MBA from the University of Nottingham in 2007. As a teacher, Nick is an accredited higher education fellow (FHEA) and was a finalist for the 2020 WhatUni‘s student-nominated Postgraduate Teacher of the Year Award.
